About cremation & our services

 Our Mission Statement

At Ascension Reflection Cremation services our mission is to provide exceptional standards of service. This is because it is an essential act of human decency towards people who have just lost a much loved member of their family or a friend. The loss of a loved one is the most stressful, unhappy and traumatic experience that we will face in life. We at ARC Service realize that we are unable to eradicate such pain. We also know, it is our responsibility and duty to be as efficient, kind, respectful and polite as humanly possible to our families during their time of grief.  We provide immaculately clean and organized facilities attended by people who are sincerely dedicated to our mission, and who take a great pride in their work as a result.

Cremation is simply the process of reducing the body to its basic elements through the application of intense heat. With the technology that exists today, the cremation process is quick, clean and dignified. It involves a combination of high heat and air in a specially-designed, environmentally friendly cremation chamber. At all times, those cremated remains are treated with care and reverence.

For Funeral Directors wishing to utilize our service, we have  conveniently attached "Our Authorization" for cremation below. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any/all questions you may have.

ARC SERVICE 10-Step Peace-of-Mind

Five Steps Prior to the Cremation

  1. Upon arrival at ARC Service, The Metal  Numbered Disk  "Identification Medallion" (this is the decedent's cremation Identification number of Record)  it is issued & that number is logged into our system. That ID Medallion is never separated from the decedent at any time(s) once it is issued.
  2. The decedent's vital information is input into our secure logging system. *This log contains, the Name of decedent, Identification number, date of birth,  date of death, county the death occurred in, Name of designated Funeral Home, date of arrival, date of cremation, and date of returned cremated remains.
  3. At ARC Service the cremation container your loved one is resting in is also labeled with: decedent Name, individual identification number and the name of the Funeral Home. Then the decedent is carefully placed into our secure refrigerated holding area.
  4. The physician reviews the death certificate information for submission the to Medical examiner.  Then the medical examiner completes and approves the cremation permit.
  5. After all legal requirements are complete, our certified crematory operator verifies that all completed documents are in order.  The Cremation is then approved.

*The cremation will take place as soon as possible once approval is awarded.

Note** Crematory personnel perform, "No preparation services."

Final Five Steps of the Cremation

  1. We are ready to start the Cremation.  Our certified cremation operator will remove your loved one from the refrigerated holding area and they will be positioned in front of the cremation unit to be loaded into the cremation machine,
  2. When the cremation is completed, the certified crematory operator will sweep the cremated remains & the ID medallion from the cremation chamber.
  3. The cremated remains with the ID medallion go to the cooling & processing center, for cool down.
  4. After cooling, processing takes place.  The cremated remains are mechanically processed (pulverized) into cremated remains of uniform granulated texture and appearance.
  5. When processing is complete, the cremated remains are funneled into a plastic bag contained inside the Temporary Urn. The Numbered ID Medallion is twist tied around the plastic bag holding the cremated remains. The label sticker is attached to the outside of the Temporary Urn and packing is complete.
  6. Final Step: The packaged & labeled cremated remains are securely shelved, awaiting delivery to the Designated Funeral Home.                                                                                                                              * All information is on file as permanent record as required for the State of Michigan.
